GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION

PRACTICE:  First day of practice is July 20, at Sharps Springs Natural Area.   Starting time will be 5:30.  Players will need tee shirts, shorts, and cleats for the first day.

Day 2 and 3 players will need tee shirts, shorts, cleats, and your football helmet.

Full equipment (helmet, shoulder pads, and practice pants) will be worn after day 3. We usually practice all five days the first week.

Each age group will meet with the triple head coach to start the evaluations to place the players on their team.  These coaches are:

5-6 year olds -     James Duffey

7-8 year olds -     Spencer Sellars

9-10 year olds -   Mark Dye

11-12 year olds - John Bell

13-14 year olds – Al Perry

Directions to Sharp Springs Natural Area:  From Nashville takes I-24. Exit #66 Sam Ridley Parkway. From Murfreesboro take exit # 66 Sam Ridley Parkway and turn right onto Sam Ridley Parkway.  Go 4.7 miles and turn left onto Weakley Lane in front of the bowling alley. Go .2 miles to the red light and turn right onto Swan drive. Swan drive will elbow left into Espey Drive. Sharp Springs Park is on your right.

PLEASE park in the designated areas.  Tickets can be given to cars that are parked in wrong areas by Smyrna Police.  Do not block exits and look for no parking signs.

REMEMBER drive slowly, there will be many children in the area.  NO SPEEDING !!

EQUIPMENT: Helmet, shoulder pads, game pants, game jersey, and game socks will be provided by SYFL.  Helmet, shoulder pads, and game pants must be returned at the end of the season.  Players will be responsible for providing their own practice jerseys, practice pants, and cleats.  Some of these items can be purchased at sign ups.  At no time during the season should the game jersey and game pants be worn for practice.  If worn the player may not be allowed to practice.

OTHER QUESTIONS:  Your head coach will set practice times. Practice days are usually Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.   We do play and practice in the rain. If it is lightning or pouring rain there will not be practice.  It is a good idea to show up even if it is raining, your coach will not know field conditions until they are assessed at practice time.
