Cheerleading Information Congratulations!   Our goal for the 2008 cheerleading season is to have lots of fun, make new friends, renew old friendships, encourage sportsmanship and develop skills that may be used to attain success for participation on a future school cheerleading squad. Cheerleaders will also learn how to work together as a team, be responsible and HAVE FUN! Important things you should know: The cheerleading season runs from mid July 2008 through mid November 2008. Practices are held at Sharp Springs Park (next to John Coleman School). Cheerleaders will be grouped by age divisions until our football teams are finalized. Practices will be three days a week. Each practice may be 1 1/2 to 2 hours in length. Football games are on Saturdays. Half of our games are scheduled at home while the other half require traveling to communities involved in TYFA football. Every cheerleader will participate in a spirit day program that highlights our cheerleaders in how they have developed throughout the season. At the end of the season, Smyrna Cheerleaders will participate in the TYFA Cheerleading Competition. This event showcases our girls' talents and is a well earned reward for the hard work during the football season. Late sign-ups available Wednesday, July 23rd after practice (at Lee Victory Park) and the following Saturday, July 26th from 9am-12 - $25 late fee applies)
